Trained as an orthopedic surgeon at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in Oswestry, Wales, obtaining a fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons (UK and Canada)

Orthopedic Surgeon at Manitoba Clinic, Winnipeg General Hospital, Grace Hospital and the Misericordia

Served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps starting 1942, landing with the first wave at Normandy

Member of the Board of Directors of the Health Sciences Centre and as a member of the Advisory Committee on Workplace Safety and Health
